Ghana Food Festival 2023 held in grand style

The much-anticipated Ghana Food Festival (GFF) 2023 has been held in a colourful ceremony in Accra.
The event, which was held at the Efua Sutherland Park, attracted over 1,000 patrons.
It began at 8 am and closed at 11 pm, bringing together people from various walks of life and varying cultural backgrounds.
The event was organised by Pen it Multimedia Limited, a media and events management company located in Accra and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
Essence of the event
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GFF, Mr. Emmanuel T. Forson, explained that the event was geared toward celebrating the country’s culinary culture.
According to him, Ghana is blessed with healthy delicacies as such, the citizenry must be encouraged to consume locally made foods and shun what he described as “junk.”
Ghana Food Festival, Mr. Forson said was also to complement the government’s effort to boost tourism in the country.
“President Akufo-Addo launched the #DestinationGhana initiative to whip up interest among travellers around the globe to look to Ghana to satisfy their lesiure and vacation desires.
“If you look at it critically, food tourism is one area that could attract foreigners to Ghana besides the tourist centres and the country’s peaceful atmosphere. Our event is to provide an avenue to attract foreigners into the country,” he said.
Appreciation
He thanked vendors and exhibitors, partners of the event and the attendees for gracing the occasion and making it a success.
Furthermore, he thanked the GTA for endorsing the event and partnering with his entity to ensure the event came to fruition.
Next edition
Due to the welcoming feedback from exhibitors and attendees of the event, Mr. Forson said his outfit were looking toward organising the next edition of the festival in December this year.
The move, he said, is to take advantage of the euphoria during the Christmas festivities and to enhance foreign participation as many Ghanaians and foreigners abroad will be travelling to Ghana for the yuletide.
